ReplyDeleteOoo! I heard Helen speak at an Indiana SCBWI event last spring, and thought she was amazing. I'd asked one of the other presenters what she worked on in between drafts, as one of the novels that particular presenter had written required 14 complete drafts. I remember Helen saying that sometimes, you just have to pick raspberries -- that sometimes, the answers to the problems you're having with a manuscript are right there before you, but you need to give yourself time away from the manuscript before you'll know what to do.

All of her books sound wonderful. I'm particularly intrigued by SPINNING THROUGH THE UNIVERSE. I'm going to have to check these books out.
