Writing and Gardening

Is it just a coincidence that all of the authors I know love gardening? For me, it's the thrill of watching things grow from day to day. A lot could be said about gardening and writing, but I'll save that for another post. I'd be quite interested in seeing the results of a survey of writers in which they were asked if they garden and why. So if any of you are out there, tell me, why do you love gardening?

WHAT I'M READING THIS WEEK: Come Juneteenth (Ann Rinaldi)

  1. I'm a writer myself but I don't garden that much,I never really took much interest or liking to gardening.

  2. I LOVE to garden. It's another way to create: using plant color, texture, size, scent. And once the garden is planted, the nurturing, the weeding, the trimming are so much like writing and revising. Parallels abound for me!

  3. I kind of suck at gardening actually. I love gardens and have tried many a time (including this year) to care for one. But... my thumb just isn't green.
