March Madness Day 27 Check-In

I set goals March First
I achieved goals March Twenty-Fourth
I've been sick, sad, and frustrated
But I've been encouraged
I wouldn't have done it without all of you
I give you thanks
Has it been crazy? Has it worked?

  1. Oh, wow! I'm really excited to be today's winner! Being part of March Madness has been a great experience. I may not have written as much as I wanted to, but I'm really motivated to keep going. Thanks to everyone for a great month!

(Sorry if this comment posted a thousand times. I'm have a horrible time with my computer's settings getting all askew. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't, so I hope this time it did!)

  3. Congrats on meeting your goal! I'm trying really, really hard to stay away from my draft for a week before I start revising. I'm three days in and going nuts!

    1. Maybe you could some fun brainstorming sessions and see how many new story ideas you can come up with or write a short story, or something else, just for fun. We don't want you going nuts. ^_^

  4. Yep yep it has been a crazy one...a crazy one of decisions and changes. Have several submissions out for work for hire positions, got a couple books read and been keeping up a t bit with the blog reading. Made the decision to start up with the blog again in April. That be me....and....CONGRATS on achieving your goals, Angelina!!

  6. Angelina, you really are an inspiration! Nothing stopped you, not even being sick and taking time to help a friend with her synopsis (ahem!) Thank you for all your help and inspiration this month!
As for my goals. I'm not going to make it. BUT I"M CLOSE! I'm probably going to finish my ms and be able to send it to my agent after the first week of April. I'll just pretend it's still March ;)
Good luck in the home stretch everyone and congrats to those who have reached their goals!

  7. Congrats on completing your goals, Angi! Many hugs to you as you keep pushing through on your journey...

Nothing new on my end. Holed up at horse camp, not getting nearly as much work done on this MS as I'd like...But at least it's sunny!

  8. Yes, it's been a crazy month! You guys helped push me along when I felt like saying, "Forget it all." I admit the last couple days have been really hard too. I made the mistake of reading some twitters from agents/editors who were in Bologna on what everyone is looking for. My one story I've been doing revisions on is one that they said no one is looking for. So I got down on myself...again.

The good news though is I did sign a contract for another book in the GODDESSES series. Yay! Learned to not write a sequel until I have the contract. So double yay on that! I plan on starting the first draft next month.

Goal wise I'm almost there! I'm halfway through my revision. **Will go back to it today and just write. On the whole YA contemps are the latest trend, I do have one put away that I need to revisit. So not all is bad, right?

    Write on, you guys!

We'll just keep pushing and tugging each other along on this journey.

    2. Kim, I read those tweets too and was a bit freaked as well. I think we should just prove them wrong :)

    4. Exactly, Pat. I keep remembering some of these were the same individuals that said paranormals were dead. They weren't by any means. If the voice is there and the story is amazing, I think it'll still sell regardless of what some are saying is a trend or not. **Now I just need to keep telling myself this!

  9. Congrats on hitting your goal!

I've got most of my little projects finished. In fact, I'm down to one 3 sentence blurb. I feel like shoving it aside, but that's not the spirit of march madness, is it? I will successfully get that blurb the way I want it before I move on!

  10. Congrats on reaching your goal, Angelina! and thank goodness for March Madness, eh? I love how helpful and encouraging everyone is.

It's definitely been crazy for me. March has been oh-so-busy on the non-writing front, so adding some mad writing goals was simply MADNESS! And my original MM goal was tossed after week one when I found I had to make a decision whether or not to try one more time with an older ms -- I decided YES, so the goal switched to a big revision of that ms. Don't know if I'll make it by the 31st, but my "real" deadline is April 4 and I'll definitely be done by then.

Thanks for all the awesome support, everyone! Have fun with the madness this week!

  11. Happy dance for all those who made their MM goals or are closing in fast !! My goal was a ridiculous word count, but deep down the goal was to develop a routine where I write regularly, if not daily. That goal is achieved! And good thing since I'll just keep moving forward until it's finished.

  12. When you can write despite everything else that's going on in your life, you know you're a *real* writer! Congrats to everyone who has been trying hard to reach goals this week.

I've wandered between projects, and am not yet near finishing two of the three I set for myself, but being accountable to my March Madness peeps has kept me from straying too far. There are still a few days left and I'll keep plugging along until the end and then on into the new month. Good luck to everyone in this last-gasp-dash. :)

  13. Yay Angelina, congrats for finishing early! all your hard work is going to pay off. :D

I'm not quite done my adverb annihilation on this WIP, nor have I quite finished it's revision (4 chapters left) but it's almost there and I will be done by the weekend if I keep going at this rate.

  14. Good for you Angelina completing your goals despite your troubles. I admire you for sticking with it, no matter what!

I hope everyone else is satisfied with their goals and accomplishments. Yay to everyone who whipped up some madness!! You still have a few days left, so no worries!

Me? Eh, could of done better, but I'm cutting myself some slack, or should I say, working on cutting myself some slack. I've had some issues, and I'm trying to work through them at the moment. I refuse to allow them to take control. I will beat them.

Here's to the last few days of March!!!

  15. Today I reconnected a bit with the madness, and I started to feel a little bit normal again.

    Still reading. I need that.

Getting ideas for a backburner story that I DO NOT WANT IDEAS FOR NOW THANK YOU I HAVE TOO MUCH ELSE GOING ON. But the ideas, they come.

    Such is madness.

  16. Congrats, Jaime!

I accomplished most of my goals and got a head start on new ones. Two stories I'd planned on submitting to an anthology are now in development for full-length awesomeness. I'll be working on them during my Camp NanoWriMo/Savvy Authors Boot camp simultaneous writing fiesta. Also, I just created a blog today. Literally spent most of the day trying to navigate wordpress.com and lived to tell about it. Glad I got a head start on writing late last night. The blog will do, for now, but I'll eventually build my own site. I just wanted something basic ready for next week. I'm doing the A to Z Challenge, as well, so it's safe to say that I'll keep busy after March Madness.

It's been crazy and fun. I'm exhausted but the support of fellow WIPsters make everything better.

    We did it!
